Take your shoes off Before you enter here, if you please Come and sit down at this round table I think we have what you need There's no need to beg Or cut yourself deeply There's no need to bleed Just open yourself up and Take it in slowly, let us Plant that seed In you, in me there's Everything that we need x2 Take your shoes off Before you enter here, if you please I've got a feeling that you may not be Upright when it's time for you to leave Ah ah when you leave x 2 In you, in me there's everything that we need x 3

Come over here my lover Turn off that light Let's use our hands to speak in Some broken English tonight Come now my crumpled secret Written in reason and rhyme Let's untangle the age old secrets Hidden in your curves and spine Cage door open You're my lover you're my skin my darling If you were a cliff I'd be fond of falling You're subtle love well it's like a dream Like some old cliche about a better me You're my lover you're my skin my darling If you were a cliff I'd be fond of falling Your subtle love well it's like a dream Like some old cliche about a better me Cage door open Cage door open Open

Ecstasy 09:08
I can see through the trees I can see-he There are no arms open waiting for me There is no gate and no peace offering Cos I believe in Ecstasy I believe in the taste of you and me Put your claws through my empty skin Raise this carcass up and leave the skeleton I have felt the purity of sin And I am lost inside of your skin Cos I believe in where we've been In the gentle collapse and in the resurrection Take the hammer, take your fickle offering Add some fire and add a touch of suffering I can see in you their soured longing And in your sweet skin they envy everything Cos I believe in where we've been In the gentle collapse and in the resurrection

Bury me in water, bury me in clay Bury me in your daughter, who came then crawled away Burry me in culture, bury me in shame Bury me with your lover, bury me with no name Bury me in darkness, bury me in light Bury me in bad blood, but make sure that you do it right Bury me in an eclipse, in a bloodied slice of your heart Bury me in your second hand sin that's been with us from the start Bury me in taxes, bury me in Christ Bury me under a butterfly wing or in the shadow of your crucified Bury me in opinion, in your judgement, and your scorn Bury me in black flames, on a white cross you were born Bury me in blue eyes, bury me in lust Bury me in politics, in your lame excuse for love Bury me in sadness, bury me in rain Bury me in your history that's been written by hands of pain Bury me in a casket, that's made from skin and bone Bury me please in the sacred dirt of this place that I call home This place, that I call home This place, that I call Home

Out 05:02
Like some days when the sun goes behind some cloud Like some days when the quiet seems so loud Like some bitter memory that won't go to ground The wave comes in/the wave goes out Like that tragic news that doesn't make the scene Onto the front page of yesterday's magazines Like the stolen child that's lost her tongue Like that gentle man who helped to drop the bomb The wave comes in and the wave goes out Sometimes you whisper, sometimes you shout Because the wave comes in and the wave goes/ out Like the gull that can't seem to find his next meal Like the head of some hawk crushed beneath the black wheel Like the crooked hand the dealer's yet to deal Like the child who learns early that it's ok to steal (no) Because the wave comes in and the wave goes out Is it the same ? Well I've got my doubts Everything must change, the sake the skin the tree There is no fate, no cure, there is no destiny The wave comes in and the wave goes out Sometimes you whisper, sometimes you shout Because the wave comes in and the wave goes/out Wave goes out Wave goes out Out Wave goes out

Separate 02:57
Separate the feeling from the pain Separate the water from the rain Separate the guilt that you feel From the shame Then give it all up so you can start/ again Separate the skin and the tissue and the marrow From the bone Separate the lies and the blind patriotism That you've been sold Separate the water from the rain Then give it all up so you can start/ again Separate the freedom from the free s e p a r a t e. a g a i n (start again) s e p a r a t e. a g a i n

Some People 05:35
Some people never die they just Hide above us Some people never fly they just Lie down below us You were a gentle suicide now you're One of us Some people never die they just Hide above us And they're a part of my life Yes they're a part of my life They're a part of my life Some folk they walk on by without Looking up up up Some folk they never cry tears Into their cup. Cup Some folk they never laugh or Even try to They stumble through, they push on by they don't have Time to see you And they're a part of my life Yes they're a part of my life They're a part of my life Rainbows don't listen to your kind of Not making sense There's a tiger who lives underneath My son's bed Rainbows don't listen to your kind of Not making sense There's a tiger that lives underneath My son's bed And they're a part of my life Yes they're a part of my life A part of my life Some people never die they just Hide above us Some people never fly they just Lie down below us You were a gentle suicide now you're One of us Some people never die they just Hide above. about

Taylor previously worked alone on three albums, simultaneously performing, arranging, and recording; but this time he has brought a wealth of local talent along for the ride. Dave Alley’s deft touches on guitar, Miles Gillet’s trademark timings, Moik Brennan’s basslines, and conga by Darryn Bowyer-Warner, have all contributed greatly. Taylor’s trademark lyrics as usual pack a lot into a little, and the album conveys a much greater clarity of purpose than previous releases.
